Truma Therme

Efficient use of warmth from the heater

The Truma Therme for caravans uses existing warmth from the heater to heat water. A warm air pipe runs directly through the appliance and releases heat to the water. This is especially useful on cooler days in spring and autumn to have hot water at all times – for example, to wash your hands or brush your teeth. When the heater is not in use, an electric heating element ensures that the water is heated quickly and efficiently.

More details about the Truma Therme

The Truma Therme for caravans uses existing warmth from the heater to heat water. A warm air pipe runs directly through the appliance and releases heat to the water. This is especially useful on cooler days in spring and autumn to have hot water at all times – for example, to wash your hands or brush your teeth. When the heater is not in use, an electric heating element ensures that the water is heated quickly and efficiently.

Switch the Truma Therme on with the control unit. The control light indicates that the appliance is operating. A thermostat regulates the water temperature to 65°C. Adjust the water temperature to your needs with the mixing tap or the pre-mixing valve. The excellent materials used ensure the drinking quality of the water.

  • Short heating time in electric mode
  • Can be used with all regular submerged pumps to a maximum of 1.2 bar
  • Includes control panel, drain and aeration valve (without mixing valve)

FAQ

  • How do I empty the Truma Therme properly?

If you are not using the vehicle, you should always drain the Therme in frosty conditions.

To prevent frost damage to the Therme, we advise the following:

    1. The caravan should be horizontal while the water is being drained.
    2. First, disconnect the power to the water pump (main switch or transformer).
    3. Drain the water from the tank or remove the water pump from the tank.
    4. Open the taps in the kitchen and bathroom and, if present, set the premixer valves to warm.
Completely open the drain and aeration valves and pull them out.
    5. Check that all the water has drained (5 litres). Our tip: this is best done with a 5-litre bucket or a container with a scale. Depending on the size of the caravan, this volume may be greater because of the water in the hoses in the vehicle.
    6. You can also drain remaining water from the appliance by blowing into the open tap – at the warm setting.

Remember that we do not accept warranty claims for frost damage.

With the hose clips SC (part no. 40711-00) you can clip the water hoses to the warm air ducts to protect them against frost damage. The hose clips are simply clipped beneath the warm air duct clamps.

  • How do I fill the Truma Therme properly?

Close the drain and aeration valves (4) completely.

    With premixers
Set the control button (2) of the premixer valve all the way to the red symbol (hot).

    With mixer tap(s)
Open the hot water tap of the hot/cold water mixer tap or set the mixer tap to “warm”.

Leave the fitting(s) open until the Therme has been filled by displacing the air and water is flowing.

  • Does the Truma Therme need to be sterilised and descaled?

The Truma Therme should be regularly sterilised and descaled. Any standard cleaning products stocked by specialist camping retailers can be used for cleaning, sterilisation and maintenance. It is important that products are used according to manufacturer specifications in the correct dosage and with the correct exposure time.

You can also regularly heat the water in the Therme to 60°C to prevent the growth of microorganisms. To do this, switch the appliance on, leave it switched on for at least
50 minutes, and do not use any hot water during this time.

You can use standard descaling products from specialist camping retailers, acetic acid or citric acid to descale the Therme.

Add the cleaning or descaling products in the recommended mixing ratio to the appliance via the water intake and allow them to work. Then flush the Truma Therme as part of your water system thoroughly with fresh water.
